one hundred twenty:365 {Happy Birthday Dad G.}

Joined some friends at Lucille's for dinner. It was our first time and it
was absolutely delicious!! However, the portions sizes were
enormous and I felt like
the murmuring children of Israel who had "flesh until it came out of their nostrils"!
{Numbers 11:20}
*FYI: I'm a chicken wing fanatic and these were the best I've tasted in a very long time!

Almost 2 years in our new home and I'm finally getting serious about decorating it!
Drove to a custom sofa store in Laugna Beach. They will make any couch for a fraction of the cost as retail stores. I'm always on the lookout for a bargin! It helps that I've seen their work and know that it's good. Check them out here!

Wednesday is typically pizza night at the Geddie home, but tonight it just didn't sound good
so Jim and I got In-N-Out..which always sounds good!

I'm always so excited when the mail carrier leaves a key in our mailbox..that indicates that there is a package too big for your mailbox! I was a little deflated from my initial high when I saw this: samples of Similac (baby formula). Then I wondered why in the world was I getting free samples. It's been over 5 1/2 years since I had a baby. Go figure. Anyone need formula?

Monday morning = ZUMBA with Sunny D!
Sadly, she just informed us that she will no longer be with 24 hr. fitness! It was a very sad announcement. Whatever will 85+ women do now? Yes, they cram 85 of us in this room.
*picture taken post workout..sweaty and redfaced!

Is it inappropriate to take a picture during church?
I wasn't planning on it, but Ryder found my camera in my purse and I went with it. You might not be able to tell, but we were sitting in the very last row of the overflow, which means, we were very late!

Spent the better part of my day at the Girls Camp Certification/Breakfast!
7:30 a.m. on a Saturday is not my finest hour, but I did it in the name of service!
If you can't tell, the theme is {western}: How the west was ONE! {one..being unified, as one, in Christ}

I stopped in an antique store this afternoon in Old Town Temecula when I dropped off my sewing machine for it's service {apparently you are suppose to have them serviced yearly..I've had mine 10 years with not a single service, but then again, I hardly sew} and I found this beauty..a Kodak DISCMAN camera! This was my very first camera..the one with the round disc film. For $3, I will add it to my antique camera collection. I love a good find!

Tonight Skyler received his Arrow of Light, the highest award a cub scout can attain.
Being his Webelos leader {and mom} I was beaming with pride! It was raining, so they had to do the program indoors but I think it worked out just fine.

My dear friend Chanin treated me to a pedicure and lunch for helping her with her
parents 50th wedding anniversary slideshow dvd! I would have done it for the joy of helping a friend, but who am I to turn down a rub of my dingy, worn out feet?

In an effort to be more obedient, I canned some hard white wheat and dry milk for our weak, but growing food storage.

I've never seen Jayden more happy or excited! Jim took the day off work to help chaperone Jayden's field trip to the Legoland/SeaLife Aquarium. Seriously, it's the little things in life, like going on a field trip or working in their class, that bring kids such joy, confidence, and happiness! Showing Jayden that he's more important than work was just what that little guy needed!
(and I was so impressed that Jim took my camera and actually took pictures!)

Had the missionaries over for dinner tonight! Both of our elders are from Tonga, which is near and dear to our hearts. It was a gorgeous day so we BBQed and had shaved ice for dessert. The boys, Ryder to be exact, were crazy..a little embarrassing, but the elder's love our dysfunction! (or at least they tolerated it)!

Ryder's 1st spring soccer game (we missed the first 2 during spring break).
He's throwing his magic lightning bolts at the other team!
His team is the TIGERS..I love the turquoise color with his hair!

My little boy is growing up! Off on his 1st Boy Scout Camporee!
(I was the cool mom..I hid a whoopee cushion in his pack! It's all about the pranks at camp!)

I've been a part of a card swap for nearly 4 years! I always feel bad for the recipients of my cards because I always wait till the very last minute and have to rush to throw something together. As was the case tonight. I started these at 7:00p.m. and turned them in by 9:00!
Maybe next time I'll be more prepared...(I've been saying that for nearly 4 years!)

Yes..feet are gross! (especially our stubby ones)
This was merely to show that my 11 year old sons' feet have now surpassed mine.

Recycling day! I don't quite understand why I do this..yeah, yeah..it's for the environment, but really..is $8.04 worth the space they take up in my garage? It took 2 months to make $8. One really has to ask themselves, is it worth it?
*and I didn't even want to answer why so many of our water bottles were filled with yellow liquid!

It was 11:00 p.m. and I was at a loss for a picture..so my smashed pennies it was! By the way, I love them.

I needed a little break from these boys so Jim took them miniature golfing and then on a hike up the mountain. They saw deer just 5 feet from the golf cart and tagged another tree with their initials. I took a nap! It was a win-win scenario for everyone!

Weren't we the lucky ones! It just so happened that Tom, Jim's boss, had sailed into Avalon for the night and invited us aboard his yacht for a little jaunt around the island! I couldn't believe how turquoise the water was on the other side. I think my boys are starting to think this lifestyle is the norm!

This is madness! Yes, it felt like a very warm summer day in Avalon, but the water was still in the 50's. No thanks for me, I don't even go in during the summer because it's too cold! I'll leave the craziness to the boys!

It's been awhile since the head of our family made an appearance in the potd.
Today starts a much needed vacation for him. Catalina was as beautiful as it always is and it felt more like summer than April.

Just because it's a beautiful, sunny day doesn't mean the pool is instantly warm. Explain that to these crazy boys! We did find a little stowaway who thought the pool was glorious!

After all our traveling, my neck and shoulder muscles have been all out of whack! I thought I'd give Jim's inversion machine a chance! All I got was a red face!
(but if you want to feel skinny, lay upside down. You'll have the flattest stomach around!)

After a very successful Easter Egg hunt..everyone loves Jim's eggs..he fills them up with money!

Our final day!
It's sad to say good-bye, but we are excited to see Jim and the boys! We had an amazing trip but we are EXHAUSTED!! We certainly made the most out of ever minute! I know that Skyler will never forget this most incredible experience!
This was the only rat we found in the city!

Day 6
A day just for the 2 of us!
We woke up to a beautiful morning..already in the 70's! We took a stroll through central park and it was absolutely gorgeous..just like in ENCHANTED!

Flowers everywhere! I can only imagine how beautiful it will be in a couple weeks, once it hits it's peak flowering season and all the trees have their leaves!
With it only being the 2 of us, it was time to take out the X-SHOT! I bought a mini one for the occasion.
The American Museum of Natural History, just like Night at the Museum 1. However, they must have used a lot of "sets" because it really didn't look the same inside! But we did find this guy!
"dumb dumb, give me gum gum"! Ryder's favorite part of the movie!
After the museum, we took the subway to the beginning of the Brooklyn Bridge then we walked across it to the best pizza I've ever eaten! I had gone here with Jim a few years ago and couldn't wait to go back!!
We had to wait in a 1 hr. 15 minute line outside to partake of this goodness, but it was worth it! I don't know what they do to make such great pizza, but it just tastes like nothing else I've ever had! Grimaldi's Coal Brick-Oven Pizzeria..it's right under the Brooklyn Bridge. When we finished, we topped it off with a cone from Brooklyn Homemade Ice Cream Factory..
(seen in What Happens in Vegas)
Our last trip to Time Square for some souvenir shopping for the boys!
On our way back to our hotel, we ran into the MOMA. Skyler was very patient with me..to a point. I'm sure he's done with museums for awhile!
*This is a photo of performance art. The lady in the red coat sits in this chair for 8 straight hours a day (for 3 months). People line up to have starring contests with her or to just be part of the display/act. Sometimes I just don't get art.

Day 5
Our last day with our friends!
It was a perfect day with incredible views of the concrete jungle: manhattan!
*off in the far distance is the State of Liberty..it puts in perspective just how large these buildings are and how small the actual statue is.
*below far left corner is the flatiron building made popular in Spiderman

We started our day off at the Empire State Building (with the rest of the world). Again, the kids all recognized this sign from the movie ELF!
..and this one, "I'm thinking, I'm thinking..." (Night at the Museum 2)
This was our tour of the Met (metropolitan museum of art)
a young hercules..this exhibit was the one in Percy Jackson's The Lightening Thief.
Rockefeller Center..this is where we said good-bye to our friends! The rest of the group was headed home but Skyler and I extended our trip for a couple extra days. I wanted him to see more of NYC.
Dylan's Candy Shop
Dyana's heaven..a 3 story candy store with every candy imaginable! It is from the creative mastermind of Dylan Lauren, Ralph's daughter. It was a bit of a rip off..basically sweet factory style bins were $12.99 p/lb. Those are some expensive sour patch kids!
