One can't go to the beach for a week with unkept toes...

Day 181

It's been a long time since my Saturdays have been vacant, so we made a day and night out of our trip to the O.C.  Stayed right next to South Coast Plaza and all the shopping..the boys favorite part was riding up and down the "willy wonka" glass elevator and swimming at the hotel pool. (not to forget spying on a wedding happening right under our balcony..I can't promise that they didn't spit on the event, what can I say other than THEY'RE BOYS!)

Orange County Swap Meet..where you can find just about anything, wether you need it or not! {like the little baby onesies..another funny one was, "all mommy wanted was a back rub!"}

Today is the anniversary of Jim's back surgery..what a difference a year makes! (don't be deceived by the small scar size, it was QUITE an ordeal!!)

My backyard, {besides the pool}, is seriously the LONE & DREARY world..I sat today, while everyone was swimming, and dreamed of what potential it had and how I was going to get it to where it aspires to be. I'm still in a stupor of thought, with no direction in mind.  Any suggestions?

Signed the boys up today for the summer reading program at the library.  Came across this dvd..let's hope it ignites a desire in my 3 1/2 yr. old to get on with the process..we need a little "potty power" around here!

Day 174

It has been ridiculously hot this week{113 degrees being the hottest} and this baby hasn't gone off the entire time!  My darling husband, who is in his office all day {probably set at 60 degrees}, thinks that I should set it at least at 74..Again, another reason men could not stay home with the kids all day {I could only imagine the utility bills..not to mention the fast food bills}!

Went scrapbooking today at Julie's...it's been awhile since I'd taken out the supplies, but am happy to say I finished 2007 (with the exception of the journaling)!

jim just walked into my office with sky's scout camp stuff on...little does he know that he can't tempt me like that when I haven't taken my "picture of the day"!  no honey, there is an age limit to being a scout!

Day 171

It was my designated day to be driver and volunteer at SCOUT CAMP.  I couldn't think of anything better to do than spend my day with 400+ adolescent boys in 108 degree weather in the middle of a dry field in Murrieta!  You can imagine how disappointed I was when they informed me that I would NOT be able to stay because I had Jayden & Ryder (they had discontinued their tag-a-long program)!!  I drove all the way home (with the a/c blasting) just stricken with GRIEF that I could not spend those cherished 6 hours with the calm and well mannered cub scouts!!

Day 170

I bought this book when Skyler was almost 2!  I remember thinking, "Sky will be in 4th grade the year I fill this book".  I thought that sounded sooooo far off, but here we are, 2008 and Skyler will be in 4th grade this fall.  Where has the time gone? [Anyone who knows me knows how obsessed I am about collecting each and every coin.  I get a little spring in my step everytime I find one I don't have and then I rush to quickly put it in it's designated slot!! What satisfaction it gives me. Still a little perturbed that I have not filled the UTAH 2007 slot...it's got to be out there somewhere!]

Schoooooools out for Summer!!!  Slurpees, Swimming, and Sleepovers..is there anything better?

This giant, plastered hole filled with liquid refreshment has been worth

it's weight in gold!!  In the 16 days we have lived at our new home, the kids have swimmed all but 3 of those days (2 being Sundays')!  We are sure to have waterlogged and hopefully tired children {by days end} this summer!

G'ma and G'pa came down for Jayden's kindergarten 

advancement program.  1 year down, 12 to go!!

Day 162

My amazing Young Women came by tonight with cookies and a 

pretty flower plant!!  I was honored that I still got to be a part

of mutual this one last night!! (and I didn't even have to plan it!!)

{this was the Beehives + 2 Mia Maids, the rest are at dance festival practice}

Day 161

First thing on our agenda....maybe some furniture.  FHE camping style!

Day 160

Today was a much more emotional day than I thought it would be. Not

only was it our last day in the Temecula Ward, but I was released as YW Presdient. 

The wonderful news is, my great friend Theresa, was called to fill my spot!  

I can't think of a better gal for the job!  Tonight, I passed the baton {binder}

over to her!  I know she feels overwhelmed, we all do that first day, but I know

the girls will love her and she will have a blast with the girls. On to the next 

challenge, whatever it will be!!

This is an awful picture of Skyler at his piano recital{w/the shading and 

everything}..but I forgot to take my camera to the

swanky baby shower I went to at the FOUR SEASONS in

Carlsbad.

I am now the official DVD slideshow maker of Temecula.

While I've had no internet, t.v., or phone service for 1 1/2 weeks,

I've worked on the many slideshows I needed to do for the end of the

school year and for girls camp.  I LOVE my MAC for this very reason!!

4 down, 1 to go maybe 2.

Day 156

After throwing all the bedding off the much too tempting 

staircase, Ryder curled up in it and fell asleep! {on his favorite, most

disgustingly dirty and old pillow}

Today was RYDER's end of Preschool Party and who knew

my friend owned this!!!!  A bonafide, state of the art, true to life,

SHAVE ICE machine.  I know what's on my birthday list!!!!

Let the organizing begin....I have so few clothes to fill 

my new ginormous closet!

Way to go JEN & GAYLE {daughter and mother} on your 1st Marathon!!

What an event...you see all sorts of interesting people.

Here are only a few...click the picture to see it enlarged.  As much

fun as it was to be out there, you will never see me running that insane

amount of mileage!  I'll leave that to the Kenyan's and other CRAZYS!
