Jim and I went to the temple this morning with my parents to do sealings for family names {it's what my mom wanted for her birthday}! It was a gorgeous day in San Diego.

Day 57
I have this strange obsession with watching the odometer change over! I can remember, way back when{1989}, the day my little white integra hit 10,000 miles..I was driving with Lisa B. to pick up a Honeybaked Ham for Thanksgiving! I remember again, when it rolled over to 100,000..I was in Indianapolis. Each mile signifies something to me, in my life. What would we do without our cars? I never wish to find out!

Day 56
NOT AGAIN!! Jayden has taken TaeKwonDoe to heart and is practicing it non-stop. Unfortunately, Ryder hasn't learned to keep clear so he got a high kick to the nose (at least it wasn't his teeth again). This is why Ryder is so tough..he has to be, to defend himself against his big brothers. {it was a good thing i was wearing red}

Day 53
These were the attendees at the "Academy Award Fireside" graciously hosted by Kristi Keeler. Of course I had to get out the XSHOT (did I mention how much I love this gadget). These girls can cook. We had amazing food and desserts. Me on the otherhand, in lieu of cooked goods, brought the official Oscar Ballots so we could all take a guess at who would win! Chanin won, but we question her test taking performance. (sidenote: we all LOVED hugh jackman and thought he did an amazing job as host so we included him in our group!)

Day 52
Umm..it's February and we're looking a little white trash so I should probably take the Christmas lights off the top of the house! We're finally home on a Saturday so up on the roof I go. 1: because my husband has a bad back and 2: he's deathly afraid of heights! It was a little nerve racking, but only because every 3 seconds Jim would tell me to "be careful"! As if my intentions were to be less than careful?

Day 51
Out comes the XSHOT again!! In public, you get a few strange glances holding this long, protruding object with a camera on the end. We were laughing hysterically (see Theresa's top picture). Maybe it's because we were so loopy after spending 3 hours of our lives watching AUSTRALIA. (or should I say, making fun of this cinematic disaster!)

Day 50
Skyler's 4th grade class had "Walk through California" day. It was a very impressive program and I seriously learned so much about California. Skyler was a trooper. He was so sick when he woke up but I made him go to school anyways. As I watched him through the program, he grew more and more pale and looked like he was going to lose it, so I took him home (where he slept on the couch for the next 2 days)!

Day 49
These are my scribbled notes that tell me every picture I took for lasts years project 366 and if it was a horizontal or vertical picture. Why? Because my Project 365 kit only has horizontal page protectors so I have to create a horizontal, photoshopped picture for every vertical picture I took. This process is killing me and I'm questioning why am I bothering? Because I have a sickness and can't stop something that I've started! It took me over a week, but I finally printed all 366 pictures and will put the scrapbook together this weekend!

Day 43
Anyone who knows me, knows I HATE SHOPPING! I'm so impatient and if I can't find it in the first 5 minutes, I'm done! But today I hit the GRANDADDY of sales at Chicks Sporting Goods and I was on FIRE! Usually sales racks have all the leftovers, not today!! In 40 minutes I tried on over 30 articles of clothing and ended up buying 1/2 of them, all Roxy and Billabong. Best thing, everything was 1/2 off! 9 dresses, 1 pair of pants, 2 shirts, and a hat..30 days to go and I'm ready for Cancun! I'm telling you go to CHICKS and stock up for summer! Who knew, a sporting goods store had such cute stuff!

Day 38
Wasn't quite sure what to expect when I learned Jayden was signed up to test for the next belt in TaeKwonDo after only a few weeks! I was so impressed with the organization and process that they used. I was a little frightened when they told these little kids to go grab a board for their kicking test. Umm..are you sure about that? Jayden didn't hesitate, in fact, he was one of the few white belts that broke the board with the first kick! I was so nervous for him out there, but also so PROUD! He was gleaming when he received a crystal trophy and 2 stars! (we find out about the belt at class next week!)

Day 36
Tony Tobin Family Night at Rubio's!! *Believe this or not, a lady complimented me on my well behaved boys! She said you rarely see children listen when their parents ask them to do something and that she truly appreciated the fact that they were so well behaved. I stood with a blank expression on my face. She couldn't possibly be talking about my boys? She was leaving as we were just getting started..good thing, because it didn't take long for the behavior to change!

Day 32
Seeing as we were here, and Skyler is studying missions in 4th grade, I took the boys to the San Juan Capistrano Mission. It was a beautiful day and an interesting place. Jayden thought we were on a treasure hunt with the audio tour device. He got so excited when we found the number that matched his map. Seeing as we missed church today, I took them into the mission chapel thinking that something was better than nothing. It was a teaching moment when they were trying to blow out the prayer candles and wondered why we couldn't light one! It was quite another moment when I turned around to find Ryder splashing in the HOLY WATER.
(I kept Ryder's eyes red on purpose..it seemed only fitting!)
