151: searching for fruit

The boys and I took a drive through De Luz to a nursery I found online. They had the most beautiful fruit trees! A little pricey, but hardy and already baring fruit. They took us around the property on a golf cart and let us taste fruit right off the tree. My favorite was the Cara Cara Orange! It was divine! Problem now is, I want several different fruit trees and don't have the room for them all. I hate narrowing down..but I think we will have to go with the: granny smith, pomegranate, and nectarine! 

150: the official start to summer

Memorial day for the geddies' is a day of projects! Today it was outdoor projects. Being the official start to summer, we decided to clean up the backyard. Jim trimmed edges, weeded, turned soil, pruned roses, fixed all the outdoor lights while I planted flowers. The boys...well, they just watched and swam in the spa!

149: the emptying of the backpack

Skyler's backpack is seriously cause for concern! How can he come from 2 highly organized parents and turn out to be such a SLOB? There were papers in there from last year. Food, that was starting to petrify and notes I wrote him at the beginning of the school year. It's a wonder how he managed to get 6 A's and a B+! 

148: pirates

Jim decided to rent out a movie theatre for his southern region. It was a reward/marketing event and me and the kids got to tag along. I have never seen any of the other three {even though we own them}, but thought this one was pretty good. They handed out swords, bandanas, hooks, and eye patches to all the kids so it was a pirate extravaganza!

SCHOOL'S OUT!!

A bunch of families from the ward got together for an end of the year bonfire at the beach! Those who started the tradition call it the bossfire..not exactly sure why, but I'll go with it! It was a lovely night with friends, food, and games!

146: computer troubles

My computer had to take a visit here for about a week! That's why I'm behind in the blog. So happy to have her back!!

Surprisingly, the boys had no cavities! I was more shocked than anyone.

144: grown up day at disneyland

Jim and I went to Disneyland without the kids today! Do I feel guilty? Nope! Had a leisurely lunch at club 33 and stayed till after closing to watch the magical world of color water show..which was absolutely amazing and worth the wait! Why Jim had to buy the glowing mohawk is beyond me, but he loved it!

143: our kindergarten graduate

 Our baby graduated kindergarten tonight!!

Mrs. Ellevold is the most loving and fabulous kindergarten teacher ever!! She was a perfect fit for Ryder this year and we'll be sad to leave her!

It was my day to teach in Young Women's. Another marriage lesson..which are the most fun! 

141: monster ice cream cone

After dinner, the Fifields and us decided to get an ice cream cone at my favorite..Rite Aid {previously known as Thrifty's}.

I was going for the splurge..double scoop, but what the lady served me was a monsterous giant cone..had to be like 3 or 4 scoops. {Compare to the other cones above}. I played the game, "how am I ever going to finish this"..fully knowing I was going to have no problem whatsoever finishing it! It might take me awhile, but I wouldn't waste a drop!

140: outdoor movie night

After a very sad day..{my friend and old visiting teacher Terah, husband died unexpectedly while playing soccer a few days ago..he was only 41 and in incredible shape, he was mourned today at a funeral service at the church}, we were able to have some fun with our ward at an outdoor movie night, where we watched "How To Train Your Dragon" under the stars.

139: baby jackson

My good friend Brandy had baby Jackson on Monday and I couldn't wait to get my hands on him! I know he's only 4 days old..but I think he really like me. Look closely, his lips are making what looks to me, a smile {or at least pleasant contentment}! I just have a way with the boys!

138: the best page turner ever!

Jayden's buddy Owen asked him to help him with his comedy act {a mighty funny one I must say} in the school talent show. His act needed someone to turn pages of drawings that went with the jokes. Jayden took his role VERY SERIOUSLY! He had to be on his game and cue in at the right comedic timing..He nailed it! Definitely wins my vote for best supportive role in a one man comedy act. This may be the closest he ever gets to performing in a talent show and he enjoyed every bit of his 2 minutes of fame.
*Jayden insisted he match Owen so Sunday night I found a tuxedo image online and ironed it on a black shirt! He rocked it! It's his new favorite shirt!

137: may showers

Enough already!! May is suppose to be flowers..not showers! Summer break begins next Friday and this weather is unacceptable!

136: ryder's kindergarten class

I was elected Ryder's class photographer for the year. Every month I'd go in the class once or twice and take pictures of the kids. Then I printed them up and put them in their memory books. This was our last class shot..notice the detailed, puffy painted shirts from an earlier post. This is their pre-graduation shot.
{I really hate photographs taken in fluorescent lighting..there's only so much you can do to make them look decent!}

**Dad, I had a dentist appointment today..no cavities. He said I had beautifully perfect teeth! I still love telling you that after all these years!

134: thank you flowers

I received these gorgeous flowers yesterday from my 2 laurels for helping them with their senior project
{along with a $50 BJ's giftcard..totally unnecessary, but surely appreciated!}

There was really no way of them knowing this, but these were all my favorite flowers and the exact flowers in my wedding!! They look wonderful on my entry table and smell DIVINE!

133: one kid in a tub

Typical Jayden! 

Jim worked a night shift so I was downstairs cleaning and finishing projects. When I finally got around to going to bed, I walked in my room and saw legs protruding out of a large storage box. I looked inside and there's Jayden, stuffed in the box with his book at his head and granola wrappers close by. I moved him because I didn't want to deal with the screams in the middle of the night when all the blood had rushed out of his feet.

132: family day lunch

 Today was the first family day lunch that my parents have missed, but for good reason! So Jim and I stepped into very big shoes and represented. In fact, we had an honoree Geddie with us. Crew is like our 4th son anyway. 

131: tony tobin open house

We had open house tonight at the elementary school. Kindergarten was all about bugs and Jayden's class square danced for us all. It's fun to see all the progress they have made from the beginning of the year and to see the classrooms decorated with all their art.

130: craftingpolooza

I love my mac! 

It's been a creating circus around here! We just had teacher appreciation week and these are a couple of the things I made for the teachers...thanks to this blog for sharing such great ideas!

I've also been helping 2 of my graduating Laurels with their senior project videos. It's been quite a process, but after about 12-14 hours of intense computer time, they are finished! All I have to say is, they better get A+'s!!

127: pianos out for summer!

This was a great day for Skyler because it marked the end of piano for the summer! I felt a little weird with him rocking out to Katy Perry's "Waking up in Vegas" in our church chapel, but all in all, he played it very well. This might be the closest thing he gets to his grammy gold..but he'll take it! 

126: trail blazers of the month

 We had not 1 but 2 trail blazers of the month!

Actually, Jayden was last month but we were in Catalina, so they recognized him this month at flag salute.

Jayden was the TRAIL BLAZER for perseverance!

 Ryder was also recognized this morning! 

He was the TRAIL BLAZER for..wait a minute...ENTHUSIASM! 

No shocker there! One could easily mistake feistiness w/ enthusiasm.

I also worked at Skyler's 6th grade Greco Roman Festival today.

Nice togo, right! He was a quiksilver roman.

125: puffy paint

Seriously...when was the last time you heard the word "Puffy Paint"? I think maybe in the late 80's. Apparently it is alive and kicking in kindergarten. The kids stamped their shirts and the teacher gave them to me to take home and outline in puffy paint. Sounded easy enough..now I'm suffering from carpal tunnel. No, not really, but it felt like it for awhile. Puffy painting takes serious wrist strength and perseverance!

124: jim's crafting

No..Jim has not picked up a new hobby! He is centering in on his inner craft and preparing all the stuff for the mother's day candy bars. Last year it was me..this year he is enlisting the entire bishopric to help. He was kind enough to cut all the paper, tulle, bows and tags! He quickly learned how time consuming scraping can be and how us girls could possibly want to spend an entire weekend doing this kind of stuff even though it's been over a year since I've scrapbooked. Now we just call those trips "girls weekends"!

123: movie night

After a very hectic day, a few of us girls decided to have a long, overdue movie night! We saw "Just Go With It"..hilarious!! Would totally recommend it..be prepared to laugh!
