149: wart drama

The thing with Ryder..when he doesn't like something, he lets you know, and usually not in a gentle or soft way. Unfortunately, this goes with adults too. He had no problem telling the doctor off and letting her know he didn't like this one bit. I didn't care for it much myself seeing as we paid $45{co-pay} for her to basically put dry ice on it. For some reason, I thought they were going to shave it off. So we left the office lighter in the pocket book, and a wart still hanging on to Ryder's knee.

{it fell off a few days later, without the 2-3 follow ups the dr. was suggesting {@ $45 a pop}..thankfully!}

148: jaydens 5th grade pool party

The 5th grade pool party is like a rite of passage. They look so forward to it throughout elementary school. I was the pizza mom and brought 44 pizzas {my car will forever smell like pizza}. The sun finally came out around 11, leaving me with an incredibly attractive farmers tan. It's hard to see all these kids grow up so quickly! Off to middle school they go...

Happy Memorial Day..we started our summer kick-off at the beach! It was a glorious day. Afterwards, we made it to the Moody's for their first official BBQ since moving into their new house. I love summer!

146: my lot in life

I wish I had a laundry shoot..until I do, throwing it over the banister will have to do! One can only make so many trips up and down the stairs for the endless mounds of laundry that I seem to do on a daily basis.

144: last day of seminary..bug play

 I can hardly believe that the school years is coming to an end. It was so bittersweet to tear down our seminary classroom. Sweet to get more sleep, bitter to not see these kids everyday!

Ryder's 2nd grade performance of BUGS. Why is it that I can never get a normal shot of Ryder? He always has to be throwing up some kind of gang signs..must be the hat! Ryder informed me he needed a hat this morning for the performance. I rushed out the door to Walmart and grabbed the only hat I could find. As I was driving him to school, I noticed on the side of the hat it said, "Miller Lite". Opps..I'm sending my kid to school with a beer hat. It will do for 1 performance, right?

143: custom cleats

Skyler's cleats finally came..6 weeks later! He just "had" to have them custom. It really didn't cost more, it just took a long time. They were actually delivered straight from China!

142: scripture bowl

The culminating activity to a fantastic year!! The seminary scripture bowl..we've worked all year on our 25 scripture masteries..memorizing, locating them, chasing to them, now it was time to chase all the other classes.  We had a tailgate pizza party first out in the parking lot. It was a crazy night and I was so impressed with my class. This was their first time and we had no idea what to expect, but they did amazing.

Charity never faileth..a motto I know and love too well. I was happy to lend my photoshopping skills to my friends to help design their girls camp t-shirts. This is what we came up with!

Standing up through all the elements..get it..wind, fire, water, mountain. Anywhere on earth can be a holy place if you invite the spirit to be there with you.

140: playdough plagues

We've been dissecting the Book of Revelation in seminary the past week. It's a tough book for the kids to understand, so I try to take any opportunity I can to make it fun and more understandable. 

I didn't get a picture of them all, but the ones I did turned out great! 1) Man will be scorched by fire and they will gnaw their tongues..those that speak blasphemies. 2) Frogs and the vial poured into the air..hence the cloud and bubbles..announcing it is time. 3) Locusts in bottomless pit 4) hail and fire, volcanoes will fall into the sea and the waters will turn to blood. Grass and trees will burn {our water sources will be contaminated..literally..spiritually, counterfeits will taint the living water, which is Christ and contaminate our souls, causing a spiritual draught}

I think they did a great job of interpreting each of them.

137: a very great day

I texted my sister this morning and told her today would be a very convenient day to have her baby, for me {it was father & sons campout night}, and she obliged.  My sweet little niece came into the world at 2:40 p.m. weighing 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 20 in. long. Perfect and sweet and really a girl!

As if that wasn't enough, my darling class surprised me with a giant candy gram card, thanking me for being their teachers.  The waterworks turned on early.  I just love this group so much. Good thing, because I get to be their teacher again next year!

136: jenniffer's birthday

Jenn's birthday is in April, but this is how long it took to coordinate several peoples schedules so that we could have a girls night out! It didn't use to be so hard! Better late than never, I always say!

135: feasting on the words of christ

I just wanted to DIE when I walked in on Buddy's last escapade! How in the world did he get into my bag, and take out my scriptures? It is beyond me. I am sick about it, but there is nothing I can do about it now! The deed is done. I guess this is how my question is answered: Do I get the new scriptures when they come out in August? I guess that would be YES!

134: garden tour

I have complete garden envy! I know it's not good to covet, but this garden is incredible. From the countless varieties of roses and flowers, to the well manicured garden beds, to the espalier  fruit trees! It's pretty amazing. 

133: buddy graduates

Buddy graduated from puppy school tonight. We've been attending for the past 6 weeks and ironically, I think he's been getting naughtier!

It was part Mother's day weekend and part Chanin and Julie's birthday that brought us 4 together again for a trip to Catalina! Pure Bliss....though I think I'm having a food hangover!

131: silent film gala

We saw all sorts of people dressed up in 20's? 40's? Not sure what decade, and wondered what in the world for. Then we saw the banner: "Silent Film Fundraiser Gala". Made a little more sense. 

These people must be die hards, because they stayed in costume all weekend long! The clothes were cute, but looked so cumbersome and hot! I can't imagine having to put so effort into one outfit!

Jayden's newest endeavor..waterpolo.  This is actually splashball.  We wanted to make sure he enjoyed it before committing to a team. He's an incredible swimmer, so I think we may have found our sport.

I told Skyler that we were going to try something different today for the car wash. His response, "don't we just pay people to do it?" Quite irritated with his response, I responded back, "not anymore!" Seeing as he and his brothers are pretty much the ones who dirty my car, it's only fitting that they should be the ones to clean it! Maybe they'll think twice before just throwing their trash on the floor if they know they'll have to clean it!

123: i love guarantees!

Walmart may want to rethink their guarantee program! We just got Jayden's glasses about 2 1/2 weeks ago and we're already taking them up on the deal.  Apparently, everything is covered, even being eaten by the dog! Sadly, this will not be the last time they see us!

Ryder's team won their playoff flag football game.  Jim promised to take him to Pizza Factory if they won, so here we are. The kids don't want the pizza, they want tokens to play the games. This fine, blonde mustache, that Ryder had to have, probably cost us close to $20..totally worth it, right?

121: the whole armor of god

The kids in my class are awesome sports! Today was our lesson on putting on the whole armor of GOD! Our armor was a little ghetto, yet still very effective. I think they especially loved the Tae Kwon Do diaper for girding up their loins! I'm hoping that by doing all these silly things, they'll never forget the more important message!
