Day 274

SERIOUSLY..who is this kids mother?  He looks like he's been rolling in dirt all day.  Actually, this being Ryder, he probably has been rolling in dirt all day!  The dirtier the kid, the more fun he had in his day..that's my motto!

Day 272

We were invited to a potluck BBQ tonight.  When ever I make this salad{chicken ramen salad}, I always bring home an empty bowl. YUM!

Day 271

My niece, Rebecca Jane, was baptized today!  {No, not in her swimming suit, this was taken at the after party!}

Day 270

We couldn't make it to our ward camp-out so some friends came over for pizza and movies.  We had our own little talent show in the backyard. The above talent "Notice that the neighbors tree limbs are encroaching on our side of the fence, get clippers, scale fence in the dark of night, trim branches without anyone seeing and without falling into the pool.."  I'd say that Jason won the talent show that night with his fine gardening skills!

AKAELA..aka steve leavitt  {went to the arrow of light ceremony with skyler for cub scouts.  i was pleasantly surprised.  it's a neat little program.}

Day 268

I'm in the process of creating a TESTOSTERONE free sanctuary for myself.  These will eventually, with the help of my mom, become window treatments, pillows, shower curtains, and seat cushions. Now..what color to paint my room?  any suggestions?

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Day 267

Some people from our ward get together every Tuesday night for soccer. This was my first Tuesday and I had a blast, however, I am realizing today {the next day} that my body hasn't quite caught up with the idea. Frankly, it's ridiculous how out of shape my body has become! But it actually feels good to hurt - if that makes any sense!

Day 266 [Happy 4th Ryder]

I can't believe my baby is 4!!!

Sunday, September 21, 2008

Day 265

This is how we spent the later hours of our night!  {thanks to the DVR we didn't have to be bothered by all the speeches!}

Day 264

It's project time again...

Day 263

Goodbye and good riddance to the ugly vertical blinds!

Day 262

It sounded awfully quite while I was cleaning up dinner..when I went to see if they were still alive, I found several empty spools of thread.  Jayden's reply, "We're making tons of webs for Halloween". (It's intertwined all the way up the stairs, into their bedrooms and through the bathroom.  How could they do so much in such a short period of time?  Why am I even asking that question!)

Day 260

Ryder's birthday was a complete success!!  It was the first time I didn't feel like crashing on the couch for several hours afterwards.  So simple, so effective, so cheap, so much fun!  I couldn't have done it without my friend Tanya's help!  THANK YOU!!  {1 cute boy CREW arrived late so he didn't make this picture}

Monday, September 15, 2008

Day 259

Meet the newest addition to the RHEAD family:  Cody!  Isn't he the sweetest little thing! Almost makes you want one, ALMOST! {ryder was so enamored with this little guy.}

Sunday, September 14, 2008

Day 258

Poor guy has a fever of 102.5!!  We only carry the best in "medical" supplies.

Saturday, September 13, 2008

Day 257

First the Hercules Hooks, now Mighty Putty!!  What would I do without "As Seen on T.V." products?  Billy Mayes has come to the rescue again!  The posts at the end of our bed weigh about 30 lbs. each and the threading from the screws won't hold it secure {we've taken them out too many times to move it} We've had a furniture repair man out and he tried to fix it, but they were still wobbly.  Then comes in Mighty Putty! (click mighty putty to learn more) It actually does work!  The posts are as strong as ever.  The best $9 I've spent! (if anyone needs a little, I've got a lot extra..a little goes a long way!)

Day 256

In the span of a few hours, Ryder decided that he wanted a Spiderman party, no, a Transformer party, no, a Star Wars party, no...then as I was looking up the cheap movies he saw Kung Fu Panda and decided he wanted a Kung Fu Panda party!  So I stopped it right there.  Kung Fu Panda it is!  I'll take 6 boys to see Kung Fu Panda at the movies..but I have to hurry because they won't guarantee it will be there after next Thursday.  So I made the invites Friday night, delivered on Saturday, party is this TUESDAY!  Mission "Ryder's 4th Birthday" Accomplished!

Thursday, September 11, 2008

Day 255

We now have some seating in our family room..yummy chocolate velvet!

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Day 254

Today I had 10, 9 year old boys at my house for cub scouts!  I totally gave up all control and let them make chocolate chip cookies by themselves (I was in close proximity though)..I think there was more flour/vanilla/egg on the counter and floors than in the cookies, but they turned out pretty good.  If only I could say the same for my kitchen!!

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

Day 253

I was driving the back roads of Temecula and came across these seriously LARGE gates.  You'd think it was an entrance to a palatial palace, but NO, behind them lied a normal sized, regular house.  I guess they're really into safety or maybe they have plans down the road to build the palace, whatever the case, they look just a little out of place!  To each their own!!

Monday, September 8, 2008

Day 252

The kids earned FREE "Claim Jumper" coupons from the library with their summer reading program, so for FHE we cashed them in.  Funny thing, I absolutely HATE onions but LOVE french onion soup, go figure..it must be all the yummy melted cheese and toasted bread inside!

Sunday, September 7, 2008

Day 251

Piano started up this week for Skyler and now Jayden!  The only difference between the two: Jayden loves to practice!

Saturday, September 6, 2008

Day 250

The soccer season officially started today!  We decided to pull Jayden back to the U6 division..man that was a good call!  I don't think he would have handled the bigger field and greater competition very well.  We were lucky to get him on coach Jenni's team (she was Skyler's coach last fall)!  She's awesome and so motivating for these kids.  Jayden soared today, scoring 3 goals.  I can see his confidence already rising.  Skyler started his season too.  They won 4-0!  It was a great day for soccer, even though it was scorching hot outside!

Friday, September 5, 2008

Day 249

Date Night with the Trevino's and Lundquists..thanks guys for including us.  I've haven't laughed as hard as I did this night for a long time-thanks for the great ab workout!!

Thursday, September 4, 2008

Day 248

Tony Tobin school fundraiser at Pat & Oscars..yay, no cooking tonight!

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

Day 247

We're still trying to get to the "BOTTOM" of Ryder's gastro problems (excuse the pun)!  He had to have X-Rays taken today to check the colon..basically he's still stopped up despite all our clean-out efforts.  The Dr. said it could take 6-12 months to retrain his brain!  WHAT!?!? Diapers and laxatives for another year?  Let's hope his brain changes quicker than what's expected.

Tuesday, September 2, 2008

Day 246

Ryder's first day of preschool with Ms. Michelle!!  He had so much fun he didn't want to come home!

Monday, September 1, 2008

Day 245

Today Jim and Kevin Taylor ran to the top of Mt. Baldy..8 miles straight up(deemed as one of the hardest runs in California)!  If you ask me, I think they are crazy.  Even more funny, they tried to get me and Theresa to run it with them.  I tried to get Jim to take a camera but who was I kidding.  He's got nothing to prove he was really there but this t-shirt.  You can read about how difficult it is HERE.
