Organized Chaos..do you ever sit and wonder why you keep some of the things you do?  I've been wondering that a lot as I'm still unpacking boxes.  It's time to purge, throw it all away and start over!

Day 212

Girls Night Out!!  A birthday bash for me..who knew that the one day we choose to drive down to San Diego to go to the Cheesecake Factory, it would be NATIONAL CHEESECAKE DAY meaning, slices = $1.50!!  It took nearly 2 hours to get seated!  But it was time well spent with great friends!  Thanks for a fabulous night girls!

Day 210

Skyler's bedroom furniture was delivered on Friday and I finally got all the bedding washed and on!  I just LOVE how it all turned out.  It was a stretch for me to do another color besides blue, but I'm glad I forced myself to step outside my color comfort zone.  All that's needed now is the finishing touches {window treatments, accessories, pictures..} and 1 room will be complete!  1 down, about 10 more to go!

Day 209

Let the festivities begin...35 is coming wether I like it or not!  My family came down for a BBQ that Jim put together all on his own!  He planned the menu, bought all the food, cooked it all, invited the family, and best of all, CLEANED IT ALL UP!  Jim, you win the "Husband of the Year" award in my book! 

Day 208

Did I mention I have the best husband ever!! I was totally undeserving of this beautiful arrangement, but he knew what a bad few days I was having and sent them to try and brighten up my day!  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

Day 207

Terrible picture, I know, but it was as good as I could get!  The youth from 12 stakes (about 3,000) in the inland empire put on a huge dance festival this weekend:  California Dreamin'.  Ask any of the adults and they would have a few choice words about the event.  It was beyond an effort to put on such a production, but those kids, when all was said and done, looked like they were having a blast!  It was very entertaining, and took me back to my own dance festival days back in 1985 at the Rose Bowl..I had just turned 12!  Ouch!  I'm old!

Day 205 {Happy 6th Birthday Jayden!}

6 Years ago today I labored to bring forth my darling 2nd son..{he, being the only child I had the way God intended women to give birth} To celebrate we had a "BOYS ONLY" star wars birthday party.  Besides a pinata, the pool was our sole source of entertainment - got to love summer birthdays!  6 years have gone soooo fast!

Day 204

You know you've officially reached "White Trash" status when you're using your blow up pool rafts as your couches.  Honestly, I don't know what is taking us so dang long to get a couch. Why must I be so indecisive, or maybe the better word is pickey or maybe a better word, lazy! Take your pick, they all apply!

Day 203

The Hawks won the Championship!!  They won all 5 games in the tournament.  Skyler even scored a goal in the championship game {which we won 4-0}!  It was worth getting up at

5:00 a.m.  (The final game started at 8 a.m. in San Diego)

Day 202

My friend Cassie had her fourth {and final} boy this morning!!  9lbs. 6oz. OUCH!  Braxton ?? Pinon is just as sweet as can be..you forget just how small newborns really are!  

Day 201

It's official!!  Skyler is now doing CLUB soccer.  The HAWKS have been after him for nearly 2 years and he finally decided this was the year he wanted to join.  We had our first tournament this weekend.  Saturday they won both games.  We don't do Sunday games, but they won both of them so we're off to the championship game Monday morning.  Am I ready for this kind of commitment?  Ready or not, here we come!

Day 200

Day 200 should be more interesting than this..apparently this is what they call the "BRAINS" of our home.  I've decided to move my office to the downstairs bedroom, thus, I must figure out what cord to put into the modem so my internet will work.  Technology..it's a love/hate relationship.

Day 199

One of my most favorite pieces of art in our home..random, yes, but I just LOVE it!! It will be perfect in the boys playroom.

A bunch of families got together to go to the STORMS {minor league} baseball game!  Riley, one of my old Young Women, sang the national anthem and did a fabulous job!! {The boy in the red is our new neighbor Jake}

Look closely...you might be able to see my $245 going down the drain..man, I'm in the wrong line of work if a plumber can get that much for just snaking the pipes.  The joys of home ownership.

We celebrated Rachel's 13th and Jayden's 6th at G'ma & G'Pa's for FHE! {These cupcakes were huge and actually quite good, considering they came from COSTCO.}

Our built in went in today..Jim finally has the t.v. he's always wanted and the sound system to support it!  [Cartoons were not meant to be that LOUD!!] any suggestions on how I can de-formalize this??  i don't want to sound ungrateful, but it kinda looks like it belongs in my dad's law office.  jim loves it, so i will {try} to love it too. I see paint in it's future and maybe the removal of the glass doors...not near future, but future.

My theme for the week is "PAIN"TING!  {and even though someone else is doing it for me, it seems almost just as stressful}

Day 192

Last minute decision..I tagged along at girls camp on Thursday, just for the day!!  I wasn't planning on it, but I'm so glad everyone tried {and succeeded} to change my mind.  These are the most incredible girls ever and I'm glad I got this last opportunity to share in this experience with them!!

Day 191

From the paint deck to this...9 colors to try just for 1 room!  This is when my perfectionism gets the best of me.  FYI:  if anyone was thinking about painting and needs some samples, I have a garage full to pick from.  I think the count is around 18 now!  

Day 190

Once we called the painter, I had the sudden anxiety of picking out all my colors.  It was serious stress!!  The painter wanted to start in the morning and I had no clue, other than the kids rooms and ours, what colors would look best and would go with all the dark wood in our house.  I know it's only paint, but add on the cost of the painter and it's not just a gallon of paint anymore.

Day 189

It seemed like a good idea when I woke up in the morning..I was sooo tired of white walls.  By evening, Jim just laughed {actually cringed} at my idea and called a painter!!  He'll be here tomorrow.  I had the best intentions, but these rooms are bigger than they appear!

Last day of vacation...livin' large!  {never mind that it was fast sunday..opps!!}

I finished ECLIPSE today (the 3rd book of the Twilight series) and as we were driving around on the golf cart, on an island that has very few cars mind you, I spotted this!!  I could totally see{and hear} Bella and Edward cruising around Forks in it!  I CAN'T WAIT TILL AUG. 2ND {the 4th book comes out} For those of you who haven't read the books, this post will mean nothing to you, but a picture of an old chevy truck!
