Day 212

We invited Skyler's soccer team over for a swim party after their scrimmage, so they could get to know each other off of the soccer field. 9 out of 14 were in town and it made for a fun night! These boys are a great group!

Day 211

My best friend Kristen was out of town for my surprise party, so we had a little party of our own today!  It was great spending some time with you!!

Day 210 {Happy Birthday to me!}

Although I had sufficient celebrating...for Jim, a birthday is not a birthday unless you blow out the candles! {even if there were only 7}

Day 209

Today turned out to be a marathon of Dr. appts.  I orginally was going in for my annual physical and a mole check at the dermatologist (which I do every year right around my birthday). Then my first dr. said he didn't like that my heart rate seemed irregular, so he sent me up to make an appt. with internal medicine {also because he wanted me to have my kidneys reevaluated..I have polycystic kidney disease}.  Then the dermatologist didn't like that 2 new moles grew back on the spot where they had been removed 2 times before, so up to plastic surgery I go.  Now the plastic surgeon wants to remove a 3 1/2" long 2 1/2" wide section of skin on my upper right leg, but not until I have clearance from the internal medicine dr. with my heart & kidney. I'm afraid the saga will never end...(to be continued after my next appt.)

Getting old SUCKS! Also, ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN!

Day 208

Micah couldn't make it to Jayden's party last week so he came over today and we had a 2nd little party!  I was just excited to do the experiments again! {FYI:  if you decide to do the coke geyser, don't use a COLD 2 liter..it hardly exploded!  room temperature works best!}

Day 207

We drove up to my parents house for party #2!  We brought all the leftover food which ended up being the perfect amount for everyone! Jim escaped the chaos and got a couple, well deserved "Z"s on the hammock. {my parents have these 2 huge, beautiful trees in their front yard that I remember my mom planting like 20+ years ago.  Who knew then that they would get so huge!}

Day 206 {SURPRISE}

Jim threw me an amazing SURPRISE party! I truly was surprised!! Thank you to everyone who helped Jim pull this off..you are all incredibly wonderful! It was an unforgettable night!

Day 203 {Happy "Birth"day Baby}

Welcome to the world sweet baby boy!! (still no name). {This was a text picture my sister sent so technically I didn't take the photo this day..but I thought it made a perfect Day 203 so I'm using it...plus, I did the editing, so that counts for something!}

Day 202

"Nobody Cares"...somedays I totally agree!

Day 201

Apparently Skyler's team did well at their 2 Sunday games (we don't play on Sundays) so they made it to the final championship game on Monday. Unfortunately, they lost 2-0.  They still took 2nd place out of 8 teams, which I think is pretty great!

Day 200

Flying home after a fun, but quick weekend!

Saturday, July 18, 2009

Day 199

We had a great time at Jim's reunion.  It was nice to meet the many friends I had heard stories about.  Jim has great intentions, but men are just not as good at keeping contacts as women are. It's was amazing to see how many people reverted right back to the high school years once they all get together. Besides our "mormon" table, the rest of the group seemed to get drunk as fast as they could.  It made for good people watching!  I'm just wondering if the guy that started breakdancing and doing the worm woke up the next morning realizing that he's not 17 anymore?

Day 198

Flew up to San Jose for the weekend for Jim's 20th high school reunion!  What fun it was driving around memory lane and visiting our old houses and neighborhoods and remembering the good times we had. {this shot is from our room on the 15th floor of the Hilton}

Day 197

I thought it a bit ironic that today was the 16th and my parents have 16 grandkids (one isn't born, but he still counts).  All but 2 were at their house today for some swimming and cousin play time before 3 go back to Korea.

Day 196

My sister Laura is due any minute with her 2nd son, so my mom put together a  girls night out before she pops!  {spaghetti factory, DUARTE}

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Day 195

I've been taking an online photo editing class for fun and this was a practice photo for using textures/masks/overlays. {We went to the beach today and met up with tons of friends and had a splendid time!! You may notice that there is no one else in the picture yet it was a very crowded day at the beach...I photoshopped everyone out but jayden!}

Monday, July 13, 2009

Day 194

Jim's best friend Thomas and family were visiting from Kauai and came by for dinner!  The last time we saw them they had no kids (3 years ago) and now they're on #3!

Sunday, July 12, 2009

Day 193

I worked on Jayden's birthday invites tonight!  (I got the cute Mad Scientist  idea from my friend Deb).  We will go and deliver the test tubes tomorrow morning!  I'm totally excited to see how this party turns out!  I've spent hours on the internet and have tons of experiments and ideas.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything I ordered gets here before the 23rd!

Day 192

Jim was in Moab river rafting with the Young Men this weekend, so Theresa came over to scrapbook and swim.  So naturally we had to break out the shave ice machine...got some new flavors last week: honeydew melon, bahama mama, and tangerine!  YUM! Go HERE (day 192) for some "action" shots!

Friday, July 10, 2009

Day 191

Went to the school supply store today to get some supplies for Jayden's upcoming birthday party!  I just love going up and down the isles and seeing all the fun stuff.  It reminds me of my days, long ago, in the classroom.

Thursday, July 9, 2009

Day 190

Went to the library today so the kids could collect their next summer reading prize.  This week they each got a free kids meal coupon for Claim Jumpers! Not too shabby.

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Day 189

One last farewell shot on the boat!  What a great week we had!

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Day 188

Jim's boss sailed into town today!  He called us up and we were more than happy to accept a jaunt on his yacht around the island!  The kids loved it and I saw parts of the island I have never seen before.  It was a great, spontaneous outing!

Monday, July 6, 2009

Day 187

This is my nephew Paul, whom I met for the first time today!!  He is the mellowest toddler{21 months} I have EVER met and just has the most squeezable and lovable cheeks!  {like I said in the earlier post, we must have ice cream daily!}

Sunday, July 5, 2009

Day 186

A trip to Catalina is not a trip without your daily stop at Big Olaf's!!  {we all look like a big olaf by the time we leave!}

Friday, July 3, 2009

Day 184

Skyler hasn't seen his cousin Noel in nearly 5 years!  My brother brought his family over from Korea for a month to visit.  These 2 picked up right where they left off!  They had a great time reconnecting in Catalina. {Sky is 6 months older than Noel}

Thursday, July 2, 2009

Day 183

A horrific fire broke out just before we left for Catalina in our nearby mountains.  Luckily, no homes or buildings were harmed. {this picture was taken from the freeway on our way out as we were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic!}

Day 182

My friend asked a few of us to come to girls camp to do a "spiritual" obstacle course.  We were to tie in our obstacle with the various topics:  distractions/balance, virtue, friendship, self-esteem, lies, journey.  It was a fun night and it seemed that the girls had a great time!  It was 10:35 p.m. by the time we finished, so needless to say, we didn't stick around for the testimony meeting.  I love girls camp and was excited to be a part of it even if was only for a few hours!{each bag was lit with a candle and looked so cool once the sun set!}
