Isn't Memorial Day a day you visit Home Depot more than once, and take on more projects than you can possibly do in a day? It is for the Geddies'. I refinished the dining room table while Jim, with the help from Trent, hung some crown molding in the dining room. And did we BBQ? Of course not! We did the Tour de Food..Little Ceasars for pizza, In-n-Out for burgers, and taco bell for burritos! Why can't everyone just eat the same thing?

Our friends the Warrens' invited our family and the Leavitt's for Sunday dinner! Chanin is an amazing cook and entertainer! I love any meal that I don't have to cook, but especially hers!
Beef tenderloin (on the bbq), salad, homemade rolls, corn on the cob, and homemade ice cream sandwiches..pure heaven!

It was just one of those days that a snack size McFlurry (reses peanut butter cup) just hit the spot!

After getting stung on the head, Jim vowed to kill all bees! So at 10:30 p.m., when all the bees were sleeping, we took the can of poison, that said it could shoot 22 ft. into the air, and began our quest for bee elimination. I think we were 1/2 foot off! The bees are still there.
(I seemed to get more of a spraying than the bees)

I just needed a day off! A day free from laundry, piano practice, soccer,
school projects, tae kwon do, cooking, cleaning, etc. So off to Disneyland we went! It may
be the last time we get a chance before our blackout days on our passes take effect.

The topsy-turvy..the apple of Jim's eye..his pride and joy! I only wish I
would've taken a picture at the start. He started with 3 little tomato
plants and in a couple months they are 5 times the size with bucket
loads of blooms! It may look tacky.. don't all "As Seen On T.V." look tacky? But it works!

No time to fold so I just made like a groundhog and burrowed myself
into a little corner of my bed for the night!

Saturday was another busy day: ryder's last soccer game, women's conf.
at church, skyler's soccer scrimmage, birthday party in oceanside(for my friend Mari's son), wedding reception, grocery shopping (@10:30p.m.) It's no wonder
I never get the laundry done..I'm never home!

Celebrating Julies birthday with a day lounging by the pool! Campinis
to go, red velvet cake, and a sunny day..can't get much better than this!
(well..maybe if I could have found a play date for ryder..he requires a lot
of attention when friends are around..rather, he wants to be the center
of attention!)

I'm finally getting motivated to start decorating this house!
Found these darling chairs and bought 2 for the living room with
the cutest little ottomans. Yes, they are a little light for a home with
3 boys but with a few cans of scotch guard, lets hope they hold up!
(the sides and back are done in a different fabric..a blue linen)

Not one of Jayden's favorite things to do! Especially
today as the dentist informed me he needed to pull one
of his teeth and put on sealants. It took a lot of coaxing,
but we got through it! Apparently there is no room in his
mouth for these honking teeth he has so he is off to the
orthodontist for spacers. The fun never ends!

My first born will be starting middle school in the fall! I don't quite
know what to make of it! Tonight the school had an orientation for
parents! Ready or not..here we come! Awkward years..bring it on!

My friends told me of a lady, out in French Valley, who once owned an
interior design business in Utah, who now lives here and has a
garage full of fabric for cheap! So a few of us rummaged through all the bolts. Sadly, I didn't quite find what I was looking for.

While resting outside a couple Sundays ago, I was awakened by the
chirping of birds. I looked to see where it was coming from and it
appears that a bird made a nest in one of the columns of our
patio cover. I saw a nest full of little speckled eggs!
Today, I saw a lot of coming and goings
from the nest so I decided to check it out! A nest full of
brand new babies! It's hard to make out their bodies in the picture,
but they were so tiny and cute.
It looked as if one even had a little shell still on it,
so I bet they were born today!

Had a fabulous day in L.A. with Chanin and Kristi! We went to shop and eat, but
I think we did a whole lot more of the eating!! We started with breakfast at
The Farm. As we were sitting outside, enjoying our breakfast and beautiful
weather, eric mccormack (will from will&grace) and family sat at the
table right next to us. We played it very cool. No scenes. It was when we
were finished that I hid behind the jewelry kiosk and turned into the paparazzi!
After a little shopping, we hit MILK (a bakery in hollywood)..had a malt and
red velvet popper. A little later we hit a Gelato place in Silverlake district.
We topped off the night at Mario Batali's Pizzeria Mozza by recommendation from my sister
(where we saw Rob Reiner). The food was to DIE for, especially the Butterscotch Budino!
though 10 lbs. heavier..it was a glorious day!!

It was father & sons campout tonight so a few girlfriends and I saw,
"Letters to Juliet". Knowing that my dear husband would probably
forget to take pictures at the campout, I got out the x-shot for a quick
movie shot! To my surprise, the OLD women behind decided to leave
us their own, flattering message! Really? If they were teenagers I might expect it, but grown-ups? How tacky can you be?
*Jim has beat the official record for earliest departure from the campout!
Jayden was having bowel issues, and wasn't feeling good. He threw up everywhere, so they were home by 10:30 p.m.

I hadn't seen Mari in nearly 5 months
(I think the longest I haven't seen her in 15 years)!
We finally got together for lunch and I got to see baby Layla,
who is just the sweetest baby you'll ever meet!

Today I didn't take just one picture...I took 136! I was asked if I would
take a picture of every 5th grader at Tony Tobin for a
graduation project. Would my answer be anything but: OF COURSE?
I even took a huge group panoramic of all the 5th graders..I have so
much respect for photographers who actually
know what they're doing!

I woke up this morning not wanting to go to the gym..so I took on a project I've
been wanting to tackle for over a year: painting the FREE dining room set Jim's boss
gave us. We took the set, sight unseen. When it arrived, it wasn't my style but
I thought it was nothing a can of paint couldn't fix. After 2 trips to Home Depot, a coating of liquid sander, 5 cans of primer, and 5 cans of black spray paint, I'm in love with the
outcome. Now all I need to do is find fabulous fabric for the seats
and I will post an "after" picture. It was semi-instant gratification.

Yet again, Jim is driving a rental. His car was side swipped by the garbage truck at his work which left a nice, deep dent in the door. Fortunately for us, we have a great insurance agent who was able to get a few more things fixed on that side in one claim!
His car is a magnet for trouble. If he had a beater car,
I'm sure it would be dent and scratch free!

Does it still count as SERVICE if we didn't do anything?
We had nothing but great intentions but when we got to the service project (after Ryder's soccer game) they were already finished! The boys' complaining quickly turned to glee when they found out that we could go home! I took the little smirks right off their faces by making them put on the vests and taking my token potd.

At 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Jim calls me with a big favor! Could I please go to Sees candy and buy 125 candy bars and then wrap them cute for all the Mom's at church on Sunday! In the same breath he asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day..{in my mind my reply was: 'not to wrap 125 candy bars}. He's lucky I really like the women of the church and didn't mind making something nice for them!

Happy 40th Birthday Chanin!
We had a little party at Macaroni Grill with 13 close friends. Afterwards, we painfully sat
through a 9:45 showing of "Valentine's Day"! Seriously..how they took such an a-list
cast of celebrities and made such a bad movie is beyond me!
I'm sorry I suggested it!!

"Oh the places you'll go"!
I taught a lesson tonight at Enrichment on fun things to do in about an hours drive. My area was north of Temecula: l.a. & o.c. My partner had San Diego. It made me excited to actually go to all the places we found. Here's to a fun summer of day trips!

Spent a LOVELY day with my longtime, childhood friend Nickie at Glen Ivy Spa!
It was heavenly and I felt like a kid playing in the mud! It was the first time for both of us!
Thanks Nickie for a wonderful time!
