131: safari park

Fathers & sons' started early today! Jim was one of the chaperones on Ryder's field trip to the Wild Animal Park. Ryder loved having his dad pal around with him..it's the simple things in life that make the greatest impact! That night was the father and sons campout and having 3 boys, a great night off for me!
This is day 3 bruising..looks worse than it's feeling!

130: chicago

I had to get out of the house today..I couldn't be cooped up anymore! So of course it's go big or go home! I was out of the house by 8:15 a.m. and didn't get home till 11:30 p.m.
I started the day off at the Stake Relief Society day at the temple. I figured I could be still in the temple {even if sitting was a little uncomfortable}. Knowing that we had a show to go to that night, I decided to just hang out in San Diego for the afternoon. I probably pushed it a little too much with a trip to IKEA and West Elm..and then more sitting! Christie Brinkley was the lead role..she did pretty good, luckily she didn't have too many strong singing parts because she had a weaker voice than the other characters. Overall, a good day!

129: bedrest & bruises

I was told to be very still for a few days! Anyone who knows me knows that it's not in my nature to be very still. Bed rest just about killed me! Why is it that when I'm so busy and rushing through life all I want is to have a day that I can do nothing..then, when the day comes that I'm suppose to do nothing, I can't stand it and want to be doing something!
Comes down to the same thing: we always want what we can't have!!
{It was even more difficult being restricted to the house today because my house cleaners were here..I felt so guilty just laying around watching them clean..even though it felt nice to be laying in a clean house!}

128: under the knife!

I went under the knife today to have a very resistant and stubborn mole removed. This will be the 3rd time they've taken out this particular mole..it just keeps growing back. You can see in the above picture where the mole grew right on the scar. Then in the bottom picture, you see my skin, with the mole and scar, in the jar ready to be sent to pathology! This time around it was painful!! The litocain shots were murder..I let out some screams. I was given the option to be put out for this but I didn't want to burden Jim to take a day off work..what was I thinking! I rather have not felt what I felt or smelt my burning skin.  Let's just hope they got it all this time and that the pathology report comes back clean!

127: our garden

For family night tonight we planted our garden! I'm totally loving the colored tomato cages{we also have light blue and a purplish color}..they might cost a couple bucks more, but they add such a fun color to the garden!

126: jim's creations

While I was away for the weekend, Jim kept very busy with his top secret mission. He dug out the ground and built this long garden box for me for Mother's Day..mind you he was fighting a nasty bug and was practically on deaths door. This is how much he loves me! He wanted it to be a surprise and this would be his only opportunity! I appreciate and love it even more knowing that. Honestly..I love this more than any piece of jewelry or any other thing he could have bought me!! He listened to me and my desire to have a garden, even if it was little, and took it upon himself to deliver. Happy Mother's Day to me..thank you Jim..I love you!

Lunch break at Famous Daves..we were all feeling a little "piggy" after this meal!

124: time out for women long beach

Joined a group of girlfriends for a weekend of laughs, fun, and rejuvenation! We attended the Time Out for Women conference in Long Beach. It was amazingly uplifting and motivating! It was just what I needed! I'm grateful for great friends and the unity that a conference center of women can create!

123: microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion..just the name alone sounds painful..but it's not. It's abrasive, but for the good.  Bye bye dead skin and little wrinkles, hello fresh new skin!
Another spreebird deal!

122: nerf hunger games

The newest game on the block is NERF Hunger Games. It can get pretty serious at times. This is Jayden and Rory going to battle. Let me just say, Rory, being the only girl on the block, held her own against all these boys! A true Katnis.

121: haircuts

The boys were way overdue for haircuts! I scored this month. I just got 2 coupons in the mail the day before. One for a free haircut and the other for 1/2 price..add on to that my smart card discount and 3 boys haircuts = $15!
Not too shabby!

120: card exchange

It's hard to believe, but I have been in my card exchange group now for over 6 years! Every other month {I don't do scrapbook pages the other months} we have a theme and make about 12 cards to share. This months theme was boys birthdays! I can't take credit for this card..I found the idea online. I thought it was cute, plus, who doesn't love pop rocks?

118: mormon helping hands

Every year in April, our church does a massive service project for the community it's called, "Mormon Helping Hands". I think this may be churchwide, not sure, but each year we get more and more volunteers. Our project was to paint a mile long section of fence. I think the boys were wearing more of the paint then they got on the fence, but it showed that service can be fun!
