Day 244

My brother turned me on to this blog..I started reading and thought, "is this for reals?" apparently not!  it's hilarious..it's actually a spoof on the "suddenly trendy mormon blog phenomenon" sure, there are some "real" elements but you've got to read the interviews..  check it out HERE

Day 242

To lease or not to lease, that was the question 3 years ago!  3 yrs. have come and gone and it was time to turn our old car in.  We realized early on that leasing was a little restricting(we were a little more than 4,000 miles over) and I firmly believe that a car is meant to be driven (more than 12,000 miles a year).  Plus, once the kids got older they had more activities and we wanted to go more places..therefore, we knew we wanted to buy the next car.  We loved our old Denali, it served us well (even though the light interior, which was pretty, was very impractical) So we just went with another one. After 2 white cars in a row, BLACK on BLACK is what we got. Harder to keep clean on the outside, easier on the inside.  Here's hoping this car serves us as well as the last cuz we'll have it a lot longer!

Day 241

the Rain Gutter Regata that never was to be..it was my first activity to attend since being called to be the assistant BEAR leader, however, the rain gutters could not be found.  at least we got home a little earlier than anticipated!

Day 240

My day was going great until this!!  I still don't know the whole story but apparently Ryder and Jayden were jumping off the couch and collided in the air.  I didn't notice the teeth at first, just all the blood spewing from his lip.  So we immediately ran to the pediatric dentist only to learn that he, in fact, broke the roots of both his top teeth and they were both loose, but not loose enough that they would just fall out.  So we get to watch them for 1 week and then reassess if they need to be pulled.  My poor little baby can't be without teeth for 3-4 years.  Do they do cosmetic dentistry that young?  Is that totally vain of me?  Honestly, I'm surprised it took us this long to have an accident like this with the way my boys play together!!

Day 239

It's great that they're only 100 calories..however, they are the size of 2 fingers put together so for obvious reasons you can't just have ONE, so the 100 calorie thing is only for those who have the strongest of will power and control {that certainly does not include me!}

Day 238

Ryder's teacher, Mrs. Michelle, came over today for a first visit (in Ryder's comfort zone) before preschool starts.  He just loved her and wondered why she couldn't stay all day to play. He can hardly wait to start school..I, can hardly wait for him to start school.  It's a win - win situation for us all!

Sunday, August 24, 2008

Day 237

Jim dreaming about what it will be like to finally sit on a couch!!  {we finally ordered one on Saturday so about 2 more weeks of roughing it!}

Day 230

I totally got suckered into buying these, as I sat in line for what seemed liked forever at Linen & Things.  No one pressured me, but being surrounded by all the "As Seen On T.V." products, strategically placed for those in neverending nor moving lines, I found myself picking up all these products and quickly being entranced by the promises they made.  I can honestly say that the HERCULES HOOKs deliver!!  No more anchors {which = huge holes in the wall}, no more studfinders..it really is as simple as they say it is!  For more info go HERE.  Next I'm going to use my MIGHTY PUTTY!  Thank you Billy Mayes!

Day 216

"OUR RIDE"  We were invited to join Jim's boss and his most awesome family (and a few of their friends) on their yacht for 5 days 4 nights.  What an amazing adventure we had.  We sailed to Santa Barbara, then to the Channel Islands and finished the trip off in Catalina.  We left Ryder with my mom. Sky and Jayden had the time of their lives.  I wonder if they realize how LUCKY they are?  How lucky we all are! Thanks to the OLD's for an amazing and unforgettable trip of a lifetime!

1.)  BEFORE:  just leaving the port where the yacht was docked.
