Day 31

Skyler had State Championships this weekend in San Juan Capistrano (luckily we avoided the Lancaster venue).  Although the outcome of the weekend was not so good, Skyler played some great soccer! This was his first season on Club and he loved it!

Day 30

Jim was out of town for the weekend, so this is what I did with my Friday night!  (burned 558 calories in 50 minutes..then went and ate the rest of a candy bar!)

Day 29

Day 28

Day 27

Chantel has got to be the cutest pregnant person ever!!  She is all baby and soon she will join my club:  THE 3 BOYS CLUB!  {membership has it's privileges!}

Day 26

Today it was Skyler's turn for shoes/cleats!  We wondered why he was running funny lately..come to find out, his cleats were 2 sizes too small! My almost 10 year old is becoming more and more picky so this was not a fun endeavor!  (He was mad that I vetoed the $199 cleats..honestly, unless you're a pro, who needs $200 cleats!) 

Day 25

I've never seen a kid love salad more than Jayden! 

Day 24

Went to B.J.'s Pizza tonight with the Brays, Lundquists, and the Gharrings!  The service was horrendous so we got this enormous pazookie on the house (as well as our appetizers)!  As you can see, we didn't waste a bit! 

Day 23

Skyler had a night game tonight (and my camera doesn't have a very strong flash) so my picture was horrible, but I had to have a photo for the day, so I played around with it and made it a little abstract.  (Skyler's #16) 

Day 22

Pinewood Derby time again!  Every year I'm amazed at the involvement that goes into these cars {mainly by the fathers}!  Skyler won all his races but because of time, they didn't switch lanes for the finals and our luck, he got the slowest lane so he took 2nd for the night!  {sidenote} When it was all over, for our own satisfaction, we took the top three cars and raced them down the same lane and looked at times! {Why they didn't do that in the first place is beyond me} Skyler's was the fastest time!  So even though he didn't take the official championship, he was ultimately the CHAMP and all the dad's knew it! 

Day 21

After watching Jayden at Tae Kwon Do, I suddenly had a craving for Chinese Food {the kind I don't have to make}!

Day 20

Jayden lost his FIRST tooth this morning!  After having it dangling for several days, he finally got the nerve to just pull it out!  

Day 19

What better way to spend a day off school than to go to the beach..in January?  Yes..it's been in the 80's for 9 straight days and the beach was GORGEOUS! Life is good! It just reaffirms why we pay to live in California!

Day 18

How Ryder entertains himself on Sundays!  Building a fortress with all his toys.  It goes right along his need for uniformity.  

Day 17

As bear leader..I got to go on the Mormon Battalion hike with all the cub scouts in our stake! Jealous? Go HERE to see what I did that night!

Day 16

Seriously, this entire week has felt like summer.  What better way to cap the week off than with the ice cream man!  Hearing the ice cream man coming up the street just takes me back to the carefree days of youth! (what? a big stick isn't $0.25 anymore..$1.50! dang that inflation!)

Day 15

Jayden's first day of Tae Kwon Doe!  I think we found the perfect outlet for him!  Something that is his very own.  He was having so much fun out there and without prompting, Skyler told him he did really good! For me, that was a moment! 

Day 14

Took my cub scouts bowling today!  It was a blast and of course I had to kick their butts.  Yes, they're only 9, but with only a score of 135 it wasn't a very big win for me.  

Day 13

Today was my day!  For no other reason than I wanted it to be!  Got a manicure, a pedicure (would've got a massage if I didn't have a preschooler to pick up)! Went to In-n-Out for lunch and banned all forms of cleaning! 2 new magazines came today..I just sat and read them, front to back.  I sat at the computer and learned some new things in photoshop (like brushes) and now Jim just walked in from his business trip.  Jan. 13th was a good day!  (after the post I went to the movies:  Bridal Wars, with a girlfriend..this day was great!) Did I mention it was about 84 degrees today and I wore shorts (even though my legs were pasty white)!

Day 12

I'm in love with this box!  Why did it take me 6 1/2 months to finally get a pool guy to come out and hook this up?  A simple push of a button and the spa started heating and lights started glowing!  You've got to love the simple things in life!

Day 11

If you only knew the drama that was involved in securing one of these kits you would realize why I feel soooo lucky to not only have gotten 1, but 2!  Because the site that turns my blog into a book apparently doesn't work with the blogger format anymore, this kit was perfect.  All I do is put the picture in the specially made protectors and use the provided journaling blocks. Can't get more simple than that!  This might be the quickest scrapbook I ever make! (thanks to theresa for getting up early on jan.1 and going through the fiasco to order them) 

Day 10

The major part of our Saturday was spent cleaning the garage..Jim hung some more ceiling shelves (mostly because I acquired a lot more Christmas decorations this year) and I sat and critiqued.  For cryin' out loud..we have a 4 car  garage, Jim should be parking his car inside!!

Day9

...and the winner of "Mother of the Year" goes to?  Surely not me as I missed my son accepting his award for TRAILBLAZER of the Month at flag salute this morning.  NOTE TO SELF:  check backpack and actually look at the stuff in the Wednesday folder, there might be a note informing you of something you don't want to miss!! (a little ironic that they asked ME to keep it a surprise..boy did I!)

Day 8

We played hooky from school today and took the kids to Disneyland, along with 30 other people from Jim's work (minus Ryder who won't be allowed into the Happiest Place on Earth until he's potty trained). Every time we go with work, we are treated to dine in the exclusive CLUB 33. (click for more info.)  Jayden's first comment, "mom, why are there so many forks and spoons by my plate?"  It was a wonderful day shared with friends and family!

Day 7

Jim had mutual at our house tonight. The TEACHERS were working on cooking (do MRE's count?)  These particular MRE's seemed to be packaged in 2001 and needless to say, the chicken looked less than appetizing (as you can see from their faces). 

Day 6

I'm just astounded how quickly my boys can go through a pair of shoes!! {and it's not that they outgrow them, they just thrash them..to the point where the soles are crumbling off} 

Day 5

Sad day.. Christmas came down!  I feel like I just put it up! 

Day 4

jayden's favorite meal = tomatoes!!  {got to love the juice just rolling down his cheek}!

Day 3

While he was recovering, my sweet husband thought to send me beautiful "New Year's" roses! {thanks sweetie!!} you're the best..even when you're down!

Day 2

Not exactly how Jim wanted to spend one of the last days of his vacation! (He got another lower lumbar epidural..his back is not behaving again.)
