Shouldn't all girls' weekends start in COMPTON?
We missed our boat because we were leisurely dining at Corner Bakery, so we decided
to find the closest Target, to the boat, to buy some snacks..{can you not see a theme..all we did
this weekend was EAT!} Chanin and Julie were a little afraid, but I made them face
their fears. We were the only white girls in the store and stuck out just a bit, but everyone was so friendly to us!

I babysat my friend Nickie's little boy Thomas, for the past 8 days while she and her husband went on a cruise {with one of my old high school boyfriends..weird}! He was a great, built-in play date for Ryder, who loved having someone around 24-7. They had their little spats, but all in all, they were great buddies.

The LEGO party was a hit! It's hard to get in the spirit of the party when the birthday was a month ago, but we pulled it together for Jayden's sake. The slip and slide and pool hit the spot on this very hot day! Jim was the built in entertainment in the pool, throwing and flipping kids. They loved the pinata and playing the Wii LEGO games. It was an amazingly low key birthday with very minimal craziness. I think 10 boys was a great number, and at 8 years old, they can keep themselves pretty much occupied with minimal parental involvement.
The "It's Great to be 8" train has now left the station!

The Birthday Girl!
After another night of benging on fried, greasy, but delicious food, we decided to
walk off our glutenous state through the mall. We just about died when seeing
this swimsuit. Theresa is TALL, so I don't know who in the world could possibly
have this long of torso. No wonder it was only $3.99. I only wish the picture
could show how minimal the back was..there was barely enough fabric to connect
the front and the back together. Maybe this was just funny to us in our punchy, food
induced insanity.

After a 2 year hiatus, I have been released from cub scouts and put back
into Young Women's as Laurel Advisor
(call me crazy, but I really did love cub scouts!)
but I'm totally excited to be working in YW's again.
I had just a little sample of how incredible these
girls are on our High Adventure Trip..I can't wait to see what other
adventures this calling will bring my way!

I put this off as long as possible..it was my way to revolt against school starting up so soon! Plus, it's disheartening when you see school supplies being stocked in the beginning of July. Thank goodness for Wal-mart (one of the only times you'll hear me say that). My total was $76.00. Just imagine had I gone somewhere else. You've got to love a box of crayola crayons for only $0.25!

Today was the day that Jayden found out who his teacher was! (We already knew Ryder had Mrs. Ellevold because she called him on Saturday..we couldn't be more thrilled!!) I gasped when I looked at the class list! 15 MALES and only 7 females..one of those males being Ryder...heaven help this poor teacher!

two hundred twenty: 365 {happy 13th anniversary to us!}
It's nice to know that after 13 years of marriage, I can still shock him! I'm not known for my gift giving. In fact, I will admit, I tend to lean on the frugal side of things whereas Jim, he is the complete opposite! He loves to spoil me...money never seems to be an issue. Well this year I decided to surprise him and show him that I do have the ability to spoil him, materialistically speaking. I got him an ipad. He's been talking all about them, never in a million years thinking that I would kick down to actually buy one! He deserve this and so much more! Thanks for an incredible 13 years!! I love you! {seriously..could we not get a better anniversary picture? maybe next year we can be in one together!}

Skyler registered for middle school today..sniff, sniff! For fear of embarrassing him, I waited to snap my potd when we were in our own little photo bubble. Minimal embarrassment but still I got flack from him. I've got to realize that he's not my baby anymore and I will have to get sneaky with my picture taking. At this age, anything and everything from a parent is embarrassing!

Today was closet and drawer day in the Geddie home! I started at 9:30 a.m. and didn't finish until around 9:00 at night..with only a few interruptions in between! How refreshing it felt to get rid of all the boys stained and ripped shirts and clothes that just didn't fit! I had 3 huge trash bags full of clothes going to goodwill. Ahh...I love a color coordinated closet. Now if only the men in my life could catch the vision!

I think I have a collective nature about myself. When we were at the Denver mint this summer, I decided to start collecting the Presidential dollar coins! I had loved collecting all the state quarter for the past several years and was up to a new challenge. Apparently this program started in 2007 and I was about 15 presidents behind. Jim had heard my subtle hints and knows my love of collecting and decided, for my birthday, he would find all the Presidents I was missing (thanks ebay). He took it one step further..not only did he get me each of the first 15 presidents from both the DENVER and PHILADELPHIA mints, but he got coins that had never been in circulation! THAT IS LOVE! What a great listener and gift giver he is! (I also got an incredible underwater digital camera that I can't wait to use!)
