Day 304

Busiest day ever. Started off with 2 soccer games. Then drove to Valley Center and picked up the buffet I bought at a barn sale (which took longer than I thought it would...always the case). Then it was suppose to be a quick trip to the grocery store, which ended up taking over an hour. Rush home, put groceries away, take Jayden and Ryder trick-or-treating {but not without a few little tantrums}while Jim stayed at the house and terrified little kids. Get back, make appetizer, put on my own costume, put kids to bed, and go to an adult only Halloween party at our friends house till 12:00 a.m. Find all 3 boys in our bed, move them to their rooms. Fall into bed around 12:30 a.m. exhausted!

Day 303

Ryder'r preschool class put on their Halloween program! Are these the most darling kids or what! You never know what you're going to get! {later that night we had our ward halloween party where our webelos were in charge of the balloon dart board..of which I didn't take a picture.}

Day 302

Jayden played the role of the SCARECROW in the 2nd grade production of: EI, EI, OPPS! He stood the entire time, with arms out (most the time). We were so proud of him!!
{If anyone ever thought he was A-D-D, this should prove that he is the furthest thing from it!}

Day 301

Jim is all dressed up for the Young Men/Young Women dance tonight at church. Why he wouldn't wear his Magnum P.I. costume is beyond me.

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Day 300

Does life get any more exciting than this? Cub Scout training! I've been in cub scouts for over a year and I have conveniently forgotten to complete the online training, until today. I sat for nearly an hour and learned all I needed to know, and more, about cub scouts. Please don't ask me anything, as I have already forgotten what I was trained in.

Day 299

Our annual FHE trip to the Pumpkin Patch.
{after countless trips through the corn maze, my boys were absolutely filthy by the time we left!}

Sunday, October 25, 2009

Day 298

It was a very, very early morning for us! We were up at 4:30 a.m. We had to catch the airport shuttle at 5:30 a.m. Our plane left at 7:45! I needed to get home for church (12:30) to play piano for our primary program. I was pleasantly relieved to see that the overrated and trendy Starbucks had not monopolized the Vegas airport and that there were equal amounts of Coffee Beans. NO..I am not drinking coffee, but rather, the most fabulous hot chocolate ever! {sorry theresa..I just can't stand the bitter hot chocolate of starbucks!}

Day 297

We were able to get together with some dear, dear friends from when we lived up in Northern California: Val & Sarah! They moved to Vegas the same time we moved to Temecula. I couldn't believe it, but it had been 5 years since we had seen each other. It was so fun catching up! Thanks guys for an incredible night. Let's not let 5 more years go by without a visit! (got this picture taken at about 11:45 p.m.)

Day 296

Today was a WONDERFUL day! I worked out in the gym, had a deep tissue massage, then sat in the spa area on a comfy chaise lounge for nearly 5 hours, writing in my journal. Afterwards, we had a nice dinner and went to the Terry Fator show. {apparently he won America's Got Talent, a show I didn't watch}. I wondered how a ventrilliquist could keep our attention for 1 1/2 hours. Let me just say, the show was INCREDIBLE. I don't know how he does it, but he has got some serious talent. It was an amazingly entertaining show!

Here's just a little snip it of the beginning of the show. You never saw his mouth move and I watched carefully. The show was hilarious. *he actually gave permission to take pictures and take short video clips. This was not smuggled.

Day 295

We're off to Vegas for a few days! Jim has a conference, I have relaxation! This place that we are staying at is amazing! {It took us several confused minutes to realize that our curtains were on remote control.} We had 3 flat screen t.v.'s including one in the bathroom and I just loved all the eclectic/glamour/deco decor..including the wallpaper in the toilet room. There was no need to leave my room!

Day 294

Ryder made this haunted house at preschool today. It's a mystery, but it came home with all the candy decorations missing!

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Day 293

It was a big day in the Geddie house. A day all 4 of my boys DREAD! Family Picture Day!
I made the appointment early in September so I could prepare. I did nothing with my time. As always, I waited to the last very minute to organize and find the outfits we'd all wear. Jim's probably right..I stress way too much for something that always has a way of turning out just fine. Melanie always does an awesome job.

I took this one just so I'd have one for my picture of the day. I can't wait to get the results and start my next stress: Christmas Cards!

Day 292

Had a Dr.'s appt. in San Diego {fyi: I met with my cardiologist and for now, everything seems like it's going to be o.k. I have what they call premature ventricular contractions PVC's. I have about 20% more beats than normal. My heart beats an extra 15, 700 beats a day. They will retest me next year and if the results are similar, they'll just chalk it up to the extra beats being my normal. My valves are strong. My heart is strong. I just skip to my own beat. What's new there?}

After the Dr.'s I met up with Mari and baby Layla for a late birthday lunch. I got Mari a Snuggie {1/2 joking & 1/2 serious} She is ALWAYS cold. It can be 90 degrees out and she will be cold. So in an effort to keep her warm, I got her the Snuggie: so she can have her hands free!

Day 291

I've upgraded and I'm in love!

Saturday, October 17, 2009

Day 290

Went to the BYU vs. SDSU game. Somehow we were given the tickets right dab in the middle of Aztec country. Maybe it was so I could pay homage to my old alma matter. Actually, can you call it an alma matter if you didn't graduate from there? I did spend my first year of college there {18 years ago :{ yikes..that sounds so old!} I don't think Skyler minded that we were sitting right in front of all the cheerleaders plus, we avoided the midday blazing sun that was on the other side!

Friday, October 16, 2009

Day 289

My friends invited me to go to a BARN sale with them out in the middle of nowhere. It was absolutely charming. It was a huge barn filled with lots of vintage/antique furniture and accessories. Better than that, it was all decorated for Halloween! I will just say the ladies that put this on are incredibly talented! I walked away with an 8 1/2 ft. buffet {which after calling my neighbor with the same floor plan and asking him to measure the dining room niche, it will fit beautifully}. Now...how am I going to get it home? Can't wait to go back and see what they do with Christmas!
FYI: the charming little house that was on the same property as the barn once belonged to Betty Crocker!

Day 288

Had an hour to spare so I got crafty and embellished some towels for my office bathroom. Also, I found a new, fun rug that fit well in the space. Other than that, not a terribly exciting day!

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

Day 287

Went to the gym tonight at 8:30..not typical gym hours for me but it made it easier as I worked out to some funny shows: Modern Family & Cougartown.

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Day 286

I've done my share of driving to San Diego these past few days. My boys love going through this bridge {the rainbow bridge} outside Fallbrook. I have promised them that we would drive across it some day. Now I just need to figure out how. {I don't know how Jim commutes this everyday...yuck!}

Monday, October 12, 2009

Day 285

Drove down to La Jolla today to get fitted for my Holter monitor {heart monitor}. This beauty stays of me for 24 hours. I've got 5 strategically placed electrode stickers..you only get to see 2 :)

Sunday, October 11, 2009

Day 284

We had the missionaries over for dinner and keeping up with my tradition, I served breakfast for dinner (I figured that missionaries don't get too many nice breakfasts'). I made Praline French Toast and it was DIVINE!! We went through 2 entire packs of bacon, thanks to my boys. I even used my mother-in-laws "last piece of bacon" game. Everyone has to guess a number between 1-20. The closest gets the last piece. Ryder was the big winner of the night!

Saturday, October 10, 2009

Day 283

We went to a surprise 40th birthday party for our friend Erik tonight! The theme was 80's! I had more fun coming up with Jim's costume then my own. I will have to give him credit, for those of you who know Jim, this costume was REALLY stepping out of his comfort zone! I saw the shirt at the thrift store and immediately thought: Magnum P.I. It was a hit, especially the fake chest hair and mustache! Thanks Jim for being such a great sport! As for my own costume, the sad thing about it, I got it all in the teen section at wal-mart! Kids are wearing this FOR REAL life! It is actually the "trend" right now.

Friday, October 9, 2009

Day 282

Skyler and Jayden didn't have school today, so after Ryder got home from preschool, I took them {and Ryder's little friend JT} to the movies. G-Force..a little painful, in fact, I fell asleep through part of it!

Thursday, October 8, 2009

Day 281

BE STILL MY BEATING HEART! Literally, I wish it would just slow down a little, maybe just a beat or two. Apparently I have an irregular heartbeat and have had to go in for a series of tests. This echocardiogram only showed them that I need more tests. It's a little sad when your 36 and the average age of the waiting room is like 80! I will have to say though, it was pretty cool seeing my heart beating on screen. {4 days later and my hand is still bruised from the i.v. they inserted to inject die up my veins}. And if this wasn't enough, I had another ultrasound that morning that showed me, for the first time, all the cysts that are taking residency upon my kidneys! I've known that I had polycystic kidney disease for the past 7 1/2 years, but this made it seem so much more real! Seriously...I should have spread out the tests. It was way too much to take in, in one morning!

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

Day 280

I needed a new mouse and keyboard so I took a bite of the apple today! So excited that Temecula now has an Apple store! I'm so not a techy..but I love that store!

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

Day 279

We finally got the backpack hooks hung up in the laundry room. I'm hopeful that this will eliminate them being thrown on the kitchen floor. {I'm thinking I may need to paint them..they seem a little drab on the tannish wall}

Monday, October 5, 2009

Day 278

Went for a walk in Old Town Temecula! It had been years since I'd really walked around there. I forgot what cute stores they had down there. The entire time Ryder was screaming to go to the jail {where I took my Webelos a month ago}. He was overly fascinated with seeing the jail..I can only hope he will out grow his obsession for "visiting jails" quickly!

Sunday, October 4, 2009

Day 277

Jim's parents came out to visit for 5 1/2 days! Basically they were thrown into our "organized" chaos: tae kwon do, piano lessons, soccer practices, homework, school, soccer games, etc. I would like to say the boys were on their best behavior, but sadly that would be a lie! None the less, we had a great time visiting and enjoyed hitting the beach for a stroll after general conference. Thanks mom & dad for coming down!

Saturday, October 3, 2009

Day 276

Saturday = Soccer in the Geddie household.
Ryder hasn't quite grasped the concept of the game. He would rather socialize on the field than play on it. This Saturday he basically stopped gameplay by showing everyone how old he is on his hands..naturally, every other 4-5 yr. old had to then, do the same. Ryder can make friends in an instant! He just cracks us up!

Friday, October 2, 2009

Day 275

Now we're just waiting for the swine flu vaccine and hopefully we'll be spared a miserable, sickly winter!

Thursday, October 1, 2009

Day 274

The best way of getting a large group of visiting teaching done! With women, it's always about the FOOD! {thanks Jen for hosting!}
